Well - it's been forever and an age since the main (older) Highlander slash archive has been actively updated. Which is a shame. But good news to report....

http://hlarchive.net I feel we've gone far, far too long without an Automated Archive in Highlander fandom, and finally decided to go ahead and take matters into my own hands.
About a year ago, I did attempt several times to engage Ann Fountain at Seventh Dimension in conversation to see whether such a project might be coordinated with the existing archive, but she didn't express any interest in the idea. In the meantime, elseware and evildrem began working on adapting an existing academic document archive for our purposes, but real life and the realities of the adaptation process have kept this project from reaching fruition. It's been almost a year since the project began, and it's plain to me that we (and I put myself on that list of we) haven't had the collective time or energy to devote to making a collaborative project like that work, no matter how worthy it might be. That's not to say that it might not provide a better, more robust archive solution in the future -- merely that I think we need something that's working right now.
Robin Serrano at Slashcity has been my hero in so many ways over the past few years, but she is even more so now. When I approached her about creating an eFiction Highlander Archive along the lines of the Kirk/Spock archive I already manage, she not only jumped right in to help and to set it up for me, but she *donated all the bandwidth and services needed to run it.* So, this whole thing is a gift from Robin to Highlander fandom, and I really can't thank her enough. (Thanks also to Carene, hafital, MacGeorge, and JoTribe, who have been helping me get the bugs ironed out, and to Unovis for getting me off my butt.)
Okay, so I think this is about ready for prime time -- or at least for people to try it out and let me know how it's working.

For folks on my flist who enjoy Highlander fics or who have written a few themselves - run! don't walk to this new site. It would be great to have as many fics there as possible. Individual or small group fic sites are great, but one stop shopping like this archive could be is like a candy store on acid...lol.
