I tell you, posting to LJ lately is like yelling in the dark without even your echo for company these days. Grrr....
Anyway - on the off chance that someone's out there...lol.
I'm still...uhm - fiddling with that story. The sequel to Encompassed. Still not fast, but slowing getting there. And it made me think about the Ashton and Declan soundtracks I posted over a year back. You see, I've very much had those two men on my mind. As you'll see... But one day while surfing on youtube - I had one of those moments where you *hear* your character in your head. Clear as day, Ash was there - happy and smiling like a fiend, and all because he was with me while we revisited a couple moments from a certain purple-loving performer's sensual turn at the Tokyo stage.
So I thought I'd share the two clips with you - and hope that you would trust me enough to take a look even if it isn't "your thing" - or rather, if Prince isn't your favorite. Because he is one of mine, and he definitely is one of Ash's.
1) "The Question of U" - seriously sensual, beautiful, erotic and amazing (the man can make a guitar sing and cry at the same time) - this is probably my absolute favorite live performance clip of Prince - ever. I've remembered it for over 16 years, and finding it again was a gift. (Yes, this song was on Ash's soundtrack, btw.) This clip is the extended *filthy/dirty* version, too.
2) "Do Me Baby" - THUD. Just complete and utter THUD. Prince crawling over a piano in the almost dark of a red lit stage in front of thousands of fans singing this song - it's fantastic!
Enjoy - I know I did....sighhhhh. :)

PS - I think "Do Me Baby" is the first of the two songs, and that it immediately leads into him doing "The Question of U." Just an FYI if you wanted to watch them in that order, instead.
ETA - So you can hear and enjoy "The Question Of U" and "Do Me Baby" for yourselves - I've uploaded them both to my File Front page so that you can download them!!! Found HERE!!! (This version of "The Question of U" has WAYYYY better audio quality than the YouTube clip above.)

But having said that: Prince? Do me, Baby? Live? I saw him perform this song and to see him crawl and be lascivious with the piano and mikestand? Priceless!

The fic...lol - well that's my longest and most crowd-pleasing story (apparantly... the fic feedback was almost twice as long than the story - at 65 pages!!!) "Encompassed" which is a Br/M US QAF fic - but with original m/m characters that I created named Declan Rai and Ashton Forster. I made soundtracks for each of the two OMC's - and was fortunate enough to have fabulous covers made by a lj friend. If you click on the tag for Declan/Ashton - you'll get more info about them, and will be able to see the pics.
Ohhhh, and Prince! Take another look at this post above - I've added download links for a better audio quality video clip of "The Question of U" and for "Do Me Baby" - I hope you enjoy!
(I'm jealous as hell that you got to see Prince live. I've never had the pleasure - but I've collected his vids and performances for what? Two decades - gawd, I'm old! lol....)

Btw the fic. I sent you is in beta--I'll probably be posting it soonishly.
I suppose that doesn't make much difference to you, hmm. Not sure why I thought I should mention it.
Still, it's in beta.
Take care!

btw--the name I write under is Gibson that's the email I sent it to you from.
Have no worries. I suppose it's ridiculous of me to expect you to connect the dots when I haven't even shown you where all of them are. LOL.
Sorry 'bout that.

There is something about Prince that is a mysterious sensuality. The way he looks up from his eyes, the way he slinks about the stage. I could go on. When the Doves Cry is still a favorite for me.

I so agree with you. I think I was early January I said a similar thing in my lj.
