Vid #7 will hopefully achieve the audience that vid 6 didn't...lol. (pout)
Everyone who's a fan seems to have their own first experience with Aidan Gillen. For some, it was the explosion of him as Stuart Alan Jones in UK QAF. For others, it was the shy quiet man in love from "Circle of Friends." For me, I do believe it was "Some Mother's Son." One of Aidan's earlier roles, it is also one of his best parts. Both in the amount of quality screen time he's given, and in the material with which he has to work.
Please enjoy this look at Aidan Gillen in the movie "Some Mother's Son" -

Title: "Zombie"
Song: The Cranberries
Vidder: Xof
Focus: Gerard Quigley from "Some Mother's Son"
Star: Aidan Gillen, baby!!!
Rating: PG-13
Format: .wmv
Length: 5:25 mins
File Size: 24.9 MB
Theme: A mother's choice - to let her son risk dying for his ideals, or to put his life ahead of the "cause" in which he so believes. Aidan plays second lead as "Son" to Helen Mirren's "Mother" in this strong and deeply emotional film. (Movie tagline: "Between love and loyalty... Between life and death... Lies a choice no mother should have to make.")
Editor's Note: Aidan as an IRA soldier in 1979 Ireland who is imprisoned for a bombing raid on an English convoy. He's fighting for freedom, and nothing will alter his course - even going on a hunger strike to try and serve his cause. Please note that I've done a certain "trick" with this video - one that I would love to see if you notice...lol. Let me know if you do!
Song Choice - I immediately knew which song I was going to use for this movie. "Zombie" is an anti-war anthem that just screams MUST USE - considering the subject of the film. For those who wish to know its origins - take a look at this - "Referring to an insurrection in Ireland in 1916, that furiously remained since the "Irish question" continues to drag on, and especially with the past history that people use to cause pain. O'Riordan wrote ' Zombie ' as a remembrance to a child who was killed by an Irish republican bomb in London. Its sympathizing text is a shout to make an end to violence which has continued here for centuries to today and the fragile negotiations for long expected peace." http://www.bay-c.co.uk/1109941167/index_html

Another Triumph!
And the connection? Tom Hollander. He was slick and slimy in SMS; I'm looking forward to seeing him play opposite Johnny Depp.
Great job!
Where's my cookie? lol

Oh yes!
Perfect perfect perfect choice of music and lyrics. I especially liked the 'bang' of the chorus synced to the 'bang' action shots. And the ending ... brilliant! I *loved* that.
Think too, the sequences, going from end to start, worked very well - very fitting somehow with the theme, almost like that's how the movie should have played.
Well done lady! Thanks ever so for making this - the time and effort spent to do this is beyond me at the moment, might never be actually - so here's hoping you keep right on making 'em!

ps. is it bad that every time I go into Best Buy I get that much closer to buying 'L&O:Trial by Jury' just so I can finally see Aidan's episode. I've already decided to buy 'The Wire sn.3' when it comes out.

He was really good in the Trial by Jury ep. Any chance you could just rent it? (Or ask on S/V - the tape tree?)
He's also great on The Wire - but you have to sit through alot of non-Aidan stuff which I didn't like...lol.
Hugs again.
