I'm just fed up and so damn tired.

Again, I'll get over it.

But it's fucked none the less....

I'm tired of the silliness and wasteful attitudes of people being vicious to others they barely know over a fictional pairing choice.

I'm tired of being mediator for tantrum throwers. I'm too much of a Michael/Vince for my own good.

On top of the above...

If it's not NA Qaf then it's UK Qaf... I posted a plea for participation and feedback from lurkers. Almost everyone who responded did so in such a way that I felt guilty for having brought it up in the first place.

My hands hurt from all the typing I've done in the last few days. Hell, the last week.

And I gonna feel bad about even posting this. Any of this....

Let's just forget I said anything...

Don't feel bad, I just finished reading about major nuttiness in the LOTR fandom that made QaF look like a walk in the park.

i don't think You have anything to feel guilty about xof. i read the plea, just didn't respond but i think You made valid points. Every group i'm a member of has a handful of regulars that keep it going. that's just kind of the nature of the beast i think. But there's nothing wrong with wanting to nudge others into getting more involed. And that's all You did...nudge.

As far as being a mediator...well, we set ourselves up as such and can's seem to get out of it sometimes, but trust me, its easier if You can let go. easier said than done, i know from experience. They will argue anyway sweetie, no matter what. Just keep being the brilliant author, recapper, moderator and friend that You are. You don't have to be the gladiator too. and moderator means watching that the group doesn't wander too far off. just tell them to take their fights offline.

There are true fans who love both US and UK QAF no matter what the pairing, or what the 'ship. Look to those for some peace.
Your friend always, teri

I don't think you have anything to feel bad about either - you didn't say anything wrong. And unless I missed reading some of the responses on the UK group, it didn't seem like anyone was offended or angry. And actually, you got chatting going on! *huggles*

Sweetheart! You've got NOTHING to feel guilty about - you said something for ALL of us, and said it very very well - you've one hell of a talent with words lady.

'Sides, it got some chatter happening, even if it was prompted by 'guilt' feelings. It is sad though, that no matter what, the majority of list members [is it the same on other lists?] can't be coaxed out of lurkdom no matter what. 80% of the people who responded to your post were the ones who post/write/f/b usually anyway - must be the nature of the beast ... the web is anonymous and 'free' ... but that doesn't mean that from time to time we can't try again.

So please, please, don't let it get you down - it was a wonderfully well-worded well-said request and if it only tempts ONE person out of lurkdom I'll consider it a success. :-))

Luv ya - Hugs, Margo

*grin* while I do have a main favorite pairing in the UK and US versions I also have some secondary likings and LOL when you wrote that "I'm too much of a Michael/Vince for my own good" I immediately thought 'oooh, XOF likes the M/V pairing too' (it's one of my secondary pairings) and laughed at myself when I reread it and realised you meant in nature as in peace broker/caretaker. silly me:)

Don't you dare feel guilty! It needed to be said and you did it well. A few people DID post afterall, and once they do, it's always easier the next time and even easier each succeeding time.
