The closest we're likely to get to a British version of Don Siegel's 70s classic, Dirty Harry, director Elliott Lester's forthcoming Blitz is a gritty, grimy thriller about terse cops on the trail of a deranged killer.
Based on a novel by Ken Bruen, Elliott Lester's film is as much about moral boundaries and the influence of tabloid media as it is about star Jason Statham's unfailing ability to beat people up, and for an actor better known for his physical feats in action movies like The Transporter, Blitz marks a welcome foray into brooding drama/thriller territory.
With about a month to go before the film's release, we've got an exclusive clip from the film to share with you, which features lawmen Jason Statham and Paddy Considine engaged in a quiet battle of wits with snide antagonist, Aidan Gillen. Oh, and there's a cameo appearance from a pop star's stool sample.
