Some of you may have already heard this story, but if not - you MUST MUST MUST listen to these clips of the new lead singer for "Journey" - !!!
"Faithfully"
"Open Arms"
Basically the story is that one of the members of Journey started browsing through YouTube on a whim to get ideas for the "new voice" they needed for the group. Completely by chance he happened upon this Filipino singer named Arnel Pineda playing in a group called The Zoo.
One listen to the lead singer and the Journey member was STUNNED - the singer is truly amazing, voice sooooo much like Steve Perry's that it's fantastic!
Journey kept leaving messages on YouTube trying to get in contact, but the singer thought it was a joke and almost ignored it, but his friend told him to at least make the phone call - because if it was true, he'd never forgive himself to have missed out - and tah dah - he got it!
I strongly urge you to give these two clips a listen - both for the delight in hearing him and because it's always nice to take a walk down memory lane...lol. (Just imagine what he'll sound like on stage with a decent sound system - wow!)
