Actually -- the creepfactor of the subject matter aside -- Nabokov completely pwns at writing. I kind of hate him a little for writing so beautifully in his non-native language -- seriously, there's a reason so many people still read Lolita, and it isn't just that everyone is a bunch of pervs. (Well, there may be that, but I *assume* that the large majority of them read it because the language is just like -- oh my gosh, it's just GORGEOUS.)
