Uhmmm, what the HECK???? I got a google alert today on "aidan gillen" - right? Nothing new in that. But it was text that I had written in 2007 about the Q&A he did. The original text was posted here at my own livejournal which I have had for MANY years.

I click on the link what what do I see? http://ellowtuxedo.livejournal.com/profile

Someone has created a journal on 8-8-09 - which consists of reposts of my journal entries!!! What the... GRRRR.

There's no order to it - random dates, subjects. All the formating has gone out of it so the text runs together.

Why would someone do that? Seriously - it's so damn RANDOM. What what the heck purpose would it serve?

I have to figure out what to do now. This is beyond bizarre.

Any thoughts?

hugs

Idiot! Have you reported IT? Saying 'it' because to call it 'he/she' would be giving this individual too much credit.

Just plain stupid.

I did just put in a case. I hope they can help, but it's just making me paranoid. Now what if the IT folks a) don't like what's on my own lj...lol - or b) decide they can't help? Grrr...

Crossing my fingers.

Maybe you have a stalker and this is how she/he/it shows their affection?

Not likely. I'm seriously creeped out. WHY would anyone either manually, or with a bot, do that?

???

The style of the journal & the total and utter lack of formatting to the entries and userinfo make me think it's a bot account set up automatically for spammage purposes in the future rather than an individual who picked on your profile to emulate maliciously. The bot would have found a random journal to fill it's posts with so that it 'appears' to be legit.

I'd report it as a Bot & get others to do so too as well as reporting it to LJ separately yourself so they can investigate and deal appropriately. If this doesn't do anything and they continue to post your own words as their own, I'm sure enough of us here would be willing to comment politely on each post to let everyone know that this person (it it is a person) is stealing your words.

I got that alert today as well and as I was reading the thing I realised it was yours from years ago! And then I thought you'd changed name or something.... and then I realised someone was pissing about with your entries!! Like you say - who is ellowtuxedo and why bother??
WTF?

It's a bot, likely. I've been friended by similar lj's full of quoted stuff. Clues are that the lj isn't friended by anyone or commented to. They're just dumping content into it to make it look like a real lj.

This is bizarre! Is he/she a fan of yours? And all this user do is watch the news comms? Weird. it's like you have a stalker.
