Okay - I'm an entertainment geek.... Is there a term like anorak for that? lol
Annnnnyway - Since HBO will be premiering their new series "Rome" tomorrow night - 9 PM (Looks DEAD GOOD!!!) - I got to taking a look at the previews and talking to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
wannabebrit about who's been in this and that. Why I'm familiar with the actors - like, oh he looks like...and wasn't he in, and so on.
Wellllll - it led to us both realizing that there are a LOT of UK QAF Cast member connections!!! Mostly to Aidan Gillen...sighhhhh....lol. And I thought it would be fun to just put a few of them down so you could see what I mean.

Now Kevin McKidd I remember all the way back to "Trainspotting" - but let's jump to his starring role in the gay themed movie "Bedrooms and Hallways" (What? Haven't seen it? WHY NOT!!!! It's great...lol.) His co-star/love interest in that movie is now playing - guess what??? hehe.... Mark Antony in "Rome" (James Purefoy) - so it's great to see them playing in another project together (esp. if anyone chooses to slash them in fan fiction - because we've already seen them kiss each other's faces off and get sweaty together on film...lol - what? I got distracted.) - but more on James Purefoy later...lol. So why mention Kevin McKidd? Welllll - he was in "Nicholas Nickleby" = with? That's right, Charlie Hunnam!!! (Oh, side note - he was also in "De-Lovely" - which had a cameo/song for Russell T. Davies's very own Captain Jack on "Doctor Who", ie - John Barrowman!)

Okay - soooo, as some of you know (though very damn few of us have seen - whaaaaa) - James Purefoy has co-starred in a movie with Aidan Gillen called "Photo Finish" !!!!

Goodness - this man gets double billing with Aidan Gillen (ha, say that sentence really fast a few times, and it'll rhyme...I'm a twit, I admit...hehe.) I remember him most, and most recently, from the last Lara Croft movie - he was the villian... - oh, and he was in "Phantom of the Opera." However, for his QAF Cast connection - he's been in TWO Aidan Gillen films - "Circle of Friends" and "Some Mother's Son." (((Can you tell the actor is Irish??? ha...)))
Atia of the Julii Played By Polly Walker -
Okay - I admit it, she hasn't got a direct UK QAF Cast connection. But I found it fun to share this tidbit from my searching...lol. Aside from being in one of the "Poirot" episodes, as has Aidan, she once actually played Lorna Doone!!!

He played Charlie Chaplin in "Shanghai Knights" !!! (((This is getting weird!! Like spooky weird...lol)))

(Director) Jeremy Podeswa - he's connected because he directed for the US's "Queer As Folk" - not to mention "The L Word." (And BEST of all, he directed one of my all time favorite movies - the indy film "Eclipse" with Matthew Ferguson - Birkoff from La Femme Nikita...lol. Which also featured a gay themed story of a three way unrequited love/sex triangle very similar to Stuart/Vince/Nathan - btw. Can you see how bad - read "deep" - I get with this game?)
(Director) Timothy Van Patten - he's directed Aidan Gillen in "The Wire" - episode "Back Burners."
(Writer) Adrian Hodges - he wrote for Aidan Gillen's "Lorna Doone" !!! lol....

Side Joke - Since EVERYONE's been on "Casualty" it seems (including Craig Kelly) - keep in mind that from "Rome" - these folks have all made their own appearances: Kenneth Cranham As Pompey Magnus (He was also in one of "The Young Indiana Johns Cronicles," like Craig), Tobias Menzies (mentioned above as Brutus), and Ewan Bailey (Pertinax) - both on "Casualty" & "The Bill".
Lindsay Duncan (Servilia of the Junii) - she did an episode of "Poirot" - like Aidan.
Rick Warden (Quintus Pompey) - he has been on "The Bill" like Aidan & Antony Cotton.
David Bamber (Marcus Tullius Cicero) - he's been on both "The Bill" and "Casualty," and done an episode of "Poirot" - like Aidan.
Lee Boardman (Timon) - he's been on "The Bill" like Aidan.
Fenella Woolgar (Cornelia) - she was in an episode of "Poirot" - like Aidan.
Grant Masters (Achillas) - he has been on "Casualty," "The Bill" (like Aidan) and "Silent Witness." (like Craig)
