Film Short: "Burning The Bed" (2003)



Long story short - I got to see a screener of this film many years ago. However, the footage was not made public as the film was still being shown in the festival circuit, etc. So much time has past, and although we had a few lovely images to share from the official website, I was sad that so few people got to see it.

I have always thought back on this short as one of Aidan's best moments on film. Quietly so, sadly poignant - beautiful. A man who does not want to let go of the woman he loves, but is doing so because he does love her and she wants to leave.

Synopsis: As a goodbye, a couple literally demolish and burn their bed on a beach as they watch the flames and reminisce about moments from their past.

WELL GOOD NEWS!!! Tonight, I was VERY thrilled to see that the writer of the project, Patrick Chapman, has decided to share it online!!! YEY!!! Soooo... RUN, while it's available and watch. It's 12 mins long. (It's been up for awhile, but I just now saw it... whoops!)

Uhmmm.... This is a HARSH, PERVERSE, EXTREME and not all together SANE piece of work. I'm giving FAIR WARNING NOW - this is NOT for the squeamish, and it is NOT for the faint of heart. Also, it's NC-17.

Not safe for work - by a long shot.

Aidan worked for his friend Tom Fisher - who co-starred with him in "Shanghai Knights" and "Treacle Jr" - on this short. Tom wrote and directed it. To say that doesn't bode well for him as a stable kind of chap...lol. Tom, that is...

This short will jar you. And it will even - maybe - make you laugh, uncomfortably. But I don't think you should watch it if you don't have a sense of humor. I will say - if you are underage - DO NOT WATCH IT!
