Aidan Gillen - "The Low Down" - Screencaps!!!

Screencap time again - don't worry, I think I'm almost out of material to cap for Aidan. Guess that means the man's gonna have to make more movies/tv shows.

Anyway - The photo archive has been updated with 213 screencaps of Aidan Gillen in his role as Frank in "The Low Down." But trust me, that number is tame considering he's in almost every scene and it's one of those movies that he looks his best in! I'm serious. It was a great period for him, visually - we've got dark curls, lots and lots of grinning, smiling, laughing - we've got SOOOOOO much that just makes a fan go squeeeeeeeee - including:

1) Director had this tendency to shoot in close, and to get these really unique angles on Aidan's face, hands, etc. And his eyes! THUD...

2) There's the Dean Lennox Kelly (Craig Kelly's brother!!!) luv! Their scenes together are by far some of the most fun/best in the film! Esp all the slashiness that is Dean "forcing" Aidan to drink a beer (hand in hair, suggestive grinning and closeness) - followed up by WILD ass dancing at a club with Aidan in Dean's arms! Not to mention the kissing!!! (I'm not kidding. Aidan has now been snogged and/or snogged both the Kelly brothers - sighhhh.)

3) Aidan's character so wasted that he pulls down his pants in the middle of the dancefloor - and Dean's ROARING with laughter! Can you say tighty-whitey luv?

4) There's the Tobias Menzies love, too. You may know him better now as Brutus on HBO's "Rome"!!! He's in many of these screencaps, so enjoy if you are a fan of that series but want to see more of his other work.

There's a lot of improv in the way the scenes where shot, which to my mind makes for some of the best bits - esp when Aidan's own mannerisms creep in...lol. The nail biting, the scrubbing his hands through his hair, etc etc.

The movie won several awards, including the 2000 British Independent Film Award. And Aidan won best newcomer in the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

I truly hope you enjoy looking at these - some of the pics are just amazing! And soooooo damn fun! I hope other fans feel the urge to make some icons from these - they are an iconist's dream! Wallpapers would be great, too!

PS - On a personal note - it's continued to be a crap-tastic couple of weeks. Vertigo is a complete bitch to have. Imagine being completely aware of your surroundings, but still being stuck with the room spinning like a child's toy or a carousel on speed. Doesn't last long, but it's very very upsetting. Had to leave work today, but I toughed it out for over five hours before hand. The spells are more frequent so the doc said to double up on the meds - but that's not helped much so far. Next week holds yet another visit to the doc, and potentially an MRI. fuck....
