I just saw the interview, too!!!
1) Wayne Brady ROCKS!!! He's completely respectful of Hal and of Queer As Folk. Said he was a fan, and he encouranges others to watch it!!! It was extremely refreshing to see an interviewer have fun WITH Hal, rather than try to have fun AT Hal's expense. Bravo!!!! Wayne....
2) Hal looked f*cking fabulous!!! He was in jeans, button up blue shirt and had on his trademark leather wristband. Annnnnnnd he was wearing his KISS shoes...lol.
3) It was cute to see Hal getting tickled as Wayne showed his Vanity Fair pic. Veryyyyyyy cute, Hal!!! And yeah, the I look all mad and sweaty in the corner - that was a riot.
4) He sang what I think is "Bright Shining Lie" - that's a guess. Just a guitar and him - THUDDDDDDDDDDDD!!! He must be amazing on stage!!! They showed a HUGE pic of him on stage in Atlanta on the show, too!!! Red Monkey on Black Tee....lol. He got out two verses I think...lol. I loved how he started off and then laid into it. Was amazing to get to hear his voice.... And fun to hear Wayne saying he didn't even know Hal could sing... Which is funny because, then WHY WOULD YOU HAVE THE GUITAR THERE? lol....
5) The other bits were good - KISS, Hal's Fav song was mentioned from King's X (I think that's the group...lol) - and Hal's mention of how alot of the shows he'd been on during his talk soup days (talk shows, that is) refused to have him on for like two years because of having to put "Queer" under his name...
6) Gooooood point, Hal - re: QAF being there BEFORE the Queer Revolution on TV, esp. in 2003. He's right that all the cast members took a chance before it was fashionable.
I adore the wholllllllllllllllllllllle thing. Glad it was for more than one segment (it was for two). It was a good interview, one I think showcased Hal very well.
