We had a meeting with Clare Binns yesterday who runs the Picturehouse Cinema chain in the UK. She watched 'Treacle Jr' and really really liked it, she's giving the film two screens this summer in London, Clapham and Greenwhich for one week, if it does well she'll consider putting it out on more screens.
We have a lot of work to do in order to get the film talked about, but with enough support and strong word of mouth 'Treacle Jr' could catch a wave and other cinemas will start booking the film. It's all about publicity now and bums on seats as they say. Clare has given us an amazing opportunity. We're very proud we've managed to achieve a theatrical release without the help of a sales agent or a distribution company.
We also have a confirmed TV offer from the BBC to screen the film four times over four years on any BBC channel, and a DVD/VOD offer from Soda Pictures.
We can't thank everyone enough for the support they've given us so far. Any ideas and help anyone can offer us in order to spread the word about the forthcoming 'Treacle Jr' cinema release will be very much appreciated.
