RUN! Watch this....

Craig looks sooooo young! And their reactions to the clips of QAF are a hoot!

And Denise's "resume" vid....snicker. She calls Stuart/Vince = "Romeo & Juliet" - snicker.

Soooo, fellow fans of the original "Queer As Folk" - I have prezzies for you!!! :) :) :)

I know a number of us have speculated, written stories and wondered for years over the possibilities of just what happened after QAF2 - "All the stories are true," right? Welllll, I have the goods on what the "official" line would have been if the series "The Misfits" would have been produced. The show was meant to be an off-shoot of QAF, focusing on Hazel and Alexander - with cameos by folks from QAF, such as Vince.

Vince? Oh yes, Vince... Why's that important? Because we would have gotten to find out things about his character that we never would have guessed at while watching QAF. And we would have seen how his adventures with Stuart after QAF shaped him into a rather complex character. A dangerous mystery. Sound intriguing?

Want to know more about what happened to Stuart and Vince? What cities they traveled to? Want to know how Vince earned money after QAF - a LOT of it apparently? These and other tidbits are now gifted to us in the book "T Is For Television: The Small Screen Adventures of Russell T Davies". (The authors of the book used the Misfit scripts as sources for the information given, btw.)

If you are a QAF fan - have a look-see:

Excerpt from “T Is For Television: The Small Screen Adventures Of Russell T Davies”

Sooo, what do you think? New questions arising? Muses inspired? Let's hope so...

Blogger Chig is doing a week long look back at Queer As Folk, in celebration of the 10th Anniversary (TODAY!!!) of the original airing in the UK.

http://chig.blogspot.com/

I encourage you all to go have a read - he's reposted his Gay Times cover story from 10 year ago - added in with tidbits from behind the scenes as he attending the filming!

He's got great plans to share more goodies as the week progresses - so remember - check back!!!

"Coming later this week:

Why QAF was responsible for Chig never drinking a certain brand of lager ever again.
Who was responsible for Chig being told off on set.
The strange story of the Nivea hand creme (or was it)?
How QAF led to Chig being treated to a meal by the Daily Mail. (Yikes!)
How QAF saw Chig get a boyfriend. Yes, really! Chig has had a boyfriend!
The wild QAF party which led to naughties in a London hotel, on a train and in Chig's house with a member of the QAF cast. On second thoughts, we'll leave that bit out."

Excerpts of "Queer As Folk" mentions in the book "Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale" by Russell T Davies & Benjamin Cook, 2008, (Published by BBC Books, an imprint of Ebury Publishing, A Random House Group Company):

(I've been out of school so long I forget how to do a proper reference tag - but just know that these are direct quotes from a book that is not my own. I am only quoting it here for research purposes.) :)

Once again, I encourage you - mannnnnnnnny times over - to buy this book. It is a wonderful thing to experience. RTD, bless.... (Said with full Alexander Perry emphasis!!!)

"Allow the bastards to be lovely, allow the heroes to be weak, and then they'll come alive." - rtd talking about qaf

For any of you who are fans of Doctor Who, and Russell T Davies' work on the show - I would like to remind you that there are two books that I think you will realllllly need to take a peek through:

Photobucket

Seriously - I just got this book and I'm already IN LOVE WITH IT!!! Just, WOW... The size, the time and effort put into it. It's a fan's dream look inside the behind the scenes creation of Season Four of Doctor Who. And I'm telling you - it is a MUST for DW fans. The paper quality, the pictures, the text messages and emails exchanged between RTD and the other author, the scripts, etc - I'm loving every bit of it. With the added adoration of having RTD's hand drawn cartoons that just make me smile and laugh out loud! (The one about his wish for Moffat's DW storylines is a hoot!!! Soooo very gay, in the best way possible...lol.)

And now word is that there will be an authorized biography about RTD available in April in the US:

Photobucket

Looking forward to this - especially if it has any tidbits around the QAF era! :) (Which it seems to do - hinting that RTD may have had a "Phil" moment - to a lesser degree, if you know what I mean.)

Soooo, again - if you are a Doctor Who fan - I reallllly think you need to spend less than $30 bucks (with free shipping on Amazon) - and treat yourself this holiday season with "Doctor Who: A Writer's Tale" - and if you enjoy RTD's work, in all his various series, possibly pre-order the second. (Believe me, it's the first book I'm jonesin' over right now...THUD!!! Ohhh, the pretty!!!)

Hugs

xof

PS - Yes, the first book above IS the one in which RTD espouses his adoration of hunky Gareth. :)

ETA - BTW, if you want to listen to a live feed of music that is A) sooo "happy" and B) occasionally Doctor Who related - take a look at RTD's official website - http://www.russelltdavies.com/

Been a bit busy catching up on a few Craig Kelly television projects that I've needed to finish screencapping to update the photo archive. Well, a wealth of good fortune (and a bit of luck) has led to these goodies being ready for you all today!

First - a look at Craig as "Maria" on the BBC's "Waking The Dead" Series = SINGING IN DRAG!!!

I have uploaded 98 screencaps of him as Mark/Maria for your viewing pleasure! This was one of the hardest to find items = for years I've wanted pics of him from these two episodes, so I'm thrilled we now have them.

I have also updated the archive with pics from the "Young Indiana Jones" television movie that he appeared in with Marc Warren, and yes!!! - Jon Pertwee!!! (He co-starred with Doctor Who #3 BEFORE playing Vince in RTD's QAF. And of course, Marc Warren went on to be in Doctor Who, too. Gotta love how things run in circles.) Can you say YOUNG Craig??? Awwww... (Even if the little know-it-all opportunistic inventor is on the wrong "side" of things in World War I.)

The last lovely bit of yum I have are screencaps from his episode of "Clocking Off" = can you say Half-Naked Craig? Long-haired scrappy half-naked Craig at that.... THUD!!!

You will find alllllll of the photos at the Aidan Gillen/Craig Kelly Photo Archive - HERE.

And for your continuing viewing pleasure, you may for a short time download the "I'm A Sin" Maria clip shown above at MEGAUPLOAD or SENDSPACE.

All of my videos, including the one for Craig's movie "Oh Marbella" can be downloaded HERE.
